THE SOPOTNIK FAMILY OLIVE FARM
Our farm rests on a hill named Liminjan in an area called Istra on the Slovene coast. The olive grove, protected from the cold winter winds of Burja, faces southwest exposing the trees to the sun.
Our production is entirely organic, at one with nature, bringing you a product of excellence, beneficial both to the earth and to your health.
We offer our award winning extra virgin olive oil for you to purchase and enjoy.
Our olive trees grow in the northern most lattitude for olive growth, the variant temperatures of night and day bring strong aromatic flavours of lemon, green peppercorns and bell pepper, highly regarded by connoisseurs. We pick by hand and cold-press the same day to retain both freshness and flavour.
We grow many cultivars, Istrian Belica the most predominant, the other varieties are: Leccino, Pendolino, Frantoio, Buga & Crnica. From these we bring you our exceptional oil.
We have won gold twice for our oil at the Festival of the Golden Olive Twig, Slovenia.
Also, Die Feinschmeker the top gourmet magazine of Germany placed us in the top 250 Olive oils for 2016.
Our organic farming is environmentally friendly, in harmony with nature and man. We farm without chemical fertilizers and pesticides, the result is produce of exceptional quality.
We are proud to be certified by the Institute for inspection and certification in agriculture and forestry. KON-CERT.

Our trees have the best life basking in the beautiful sunlight!
All the family gets involved when it's time for picking!
Rather than place the olives in a basket as we go, we allow them to drop onto the nets to be easily gathered
